| YMCA to start branch | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | NOV 6 YMCA of Jammu, a unit of Chandigarh - Shimla YMCA held a meeting of prominent person of Jammu in the premises of Alexander Memorial School, today to discuss the work of YMCA an international social service organization having 550 branch in India and officially established in 130 countries of the world. About 40 person including Sohan Lal, Sr. Phyllis, Jhonny Williams, P.K .Joseph Dhar, S.M Gill and others attended the meeting of the YMCA under the chairmanship of Esther William, Principal of the Alexander Memorial School. Naresh Scott, general secretary, YMCA Shimla and Arvind Noel, general secretary, YMCA Chandigarh spoke on the importance of the YMCA for the Jammu citizen specially for the youth. The member present at the meeting unanimously resolved to start a branch of YMCA in Jammu and launch its programme and activities. According to a press release an inter school debate is being organized in the school premises on November 7. Seven prominent schools of Jammu are taking part, to make the beginning of YMCA Jammu.
