Freedom of expression, a basic fundamental right: GPC
12/25/2010 12:17:18 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 24: The Guwahati Press Club (GPC) Ambari too has come up with severe criticism of J&K government for stopping the advertisements to Early Times without issuing any prior notice or providing a valid reason for the same.
In a democratic set up, the freedom of expression is one of the basic fundamental rights that a free state carries along.
Banning of advertisement to the Early Times newspaper on unreasonable grounds apparently hints towards J&K government's machinations to stop free flow of facts to the people.
This is highly condemnable and against the ethical freedom of the press which is the fourth estate that showcases the facts and figures to the public through its publications.
