Thrilling one-wkt win for Young Hearts in T20

KATHUA, Dec 25: In the ongoing DySP Manjit Singh Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Sports Stadium, here, Young Hearts Kathua registered sensational one-wicket win over of Bathindi Club Jammu today.
Led by Ranji cricketer, Arshad Bhat, the visiting Bathindi Club could not stop the local boys of Young Hearts from taking away the game that too on the second last delivery of the match.
Needing 122 runs to win, Young Hearts were in need of two runs on the last ball of 20th over with first class cricketer and pacer, Arshad in charge of the ball.
However, tense Arshad could not control his nerves and bowled a wide delivery which wicket-keeper too could not collect. It resulted into Young Hearts took a single and got another gifted run by way of extras (wide) hence attained the target sparing a delivery with one wicket in hand.
Kuka played fine innings of 27 (off 26 balls) with the help of two sixes and a boundary while Vipan contributed 27 runs including four hits to the fence. From Bathindi Club, Irshad claimed three wickets for 26 runs and Gaurav bagged two.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Bathindi Club made 121 runs for the loss of six wickets. Irshad was maximum scorer with 35-ball 40 runs while Arshad contributed 19-ball 20 runs. Aman claimed two wickets from Young Hearts.
Later, Irshad was adjudged man of the match for his all round performance.
A healthy crowd turned up to witness the match because of today being holiday on account of Christmas. The crowd support in favour of local boys helped Young Hearts dominate.
