| SP Verma symbol of Gandhian values | | |
Srinagar Nov 6: In connection with celebration of 537th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, a function was organized at Gurdwara Chatipadshahi, Srinagar, which, apart from Sikh community, was attended by the members of All India Gandhian Workers Society, to paid homage to the Guru Dev Ji Meharaj. The President of the Society, Mr. S.P.Verma was honourd by the Chief Minister Mr.Ghulam Nabi Azad for his 15 years long contribution for propagating Gandhian principles in the State. The Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad praised the role of the society which it played in spreading the Gandhian message of peace and harmony throughout the state for past fifteen years. Mr. Verma has created a good base of Gandhian workers in the state and is still on this mission to spread the Gandhian message of peace and equality. The Gurdwara Prbandhak Committee also presented a citation to Mr. Verma and described him a great Shantidoot (messenger of peace) of the State. Congress Leader, Sardar Chani Singh,President Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Sardar Kuldeep Singh, besides Sardar Teja Singh, Sardar JB Singh, Sardar KL Singh were present on this occasion.
