Minor girl among 3 killed, 21 hurt in road mishaps | | | JAMMU: Three persons, including a five-year-old girl, were killed and 21 others wounded in separate road acidents here today. Police sources said Srishta Magotra (5) was crossing the highway along with her parents at Ghagwal when a speeding minibus (JK02Q/7109) hit her, resulting in her instant death. Hailing from Slair in Bishnah, the family had gone to Ghagwal to meet a relative. Police had registered a case in this connection. A minibus (JK08/5036) met with an accident near Machedi in Billawar, Kathua, after its brakes failed as a result of which one person was killed and 21 others were injured. The dead was identified as Romesh Kumar, son of Durga Dass of Budhnota, Billawar. Some of the injured were admitted to the Machedi hospital and others at sub-district hospital, Billawar. Five of the seriously injured were referred to the GMC hospital. They were identified as Kewal Kumar, Karamdin, Bishambar, R Ahmad and Moni Devi. Meanwhile, Happy Masih of ward No 7, Kathua, was killed after his motorcycle met with a mishap at Maggar Khud in Kathua this evening.
