| Man beaten by woman, two sons at RS Pura | | | Jammu/rs pURA: Over a land dispute, a man was beaten with lathies by his two nephews and their mother at Laaean in RS Pura today. Police sources said Bhagwan Dass was ploughing a field at Laaean hen his nephews -- Sarpal and Raj Kumar -- beat him with lathies.
They also damaged his tractor.
They later took him to their nearby house where their mother Gurmeet Devi also joined them. The threesome gave him a severe beating, the sources added.
After the matter came to their notice, a police party rushed to the spot and rescued him. Cops evacuated the injured to the sub-district hospital, RS Pura. However, following deterioration in his condition, he was later referred to the GMC hospital.
Police had arrested Sarpal, Raj and Gurmeet and registered a case against them.
Sources said Gurmeet's husband Dhana Chand was murdered in the village over the land dispute about four years back. Bhagwan, Dhana's elder brother, was also arrested in the case that time and jailed, the sources added.
Today, when Bhagwan, who at present was putting up at Shastri Nagar, came to the field, Dhana's family attacked him to revenge his killing, sources said. The condition of Bhagwan was stated to be critical at the hospital. |
