10-15 mln new jobs in 2011: Study | | | AGENCIES New Delhi, Dec 26 : Nearly 10-15 million jobs are expected to be created next year on account of rapid economic growth in the country, an Assocham study said today. As much as 75 per cent of these new jobs will require vocational training, the industry body said, adding if not addressed properly can lead to a slowdown in the country's economic growth. Assocham Secretary General D S Rawat said the year 2011 is likely to be a boom for skilled worker in IT and ITES, biotechnology and services sector. These sectors witnessed a hike of 15 per cent in salaries this year, and is expected to register a growth of 30 to 40 per cent in salaries next year. He said the share of the services sector is steadily increasing. The high growth service sector industries include information technology, academic and biotechology sectors. Mr Rawat, however, said there is a clear shortage of qualified and skilled manpower. |
