| Awareness tour of girl students from border areas flagged off | | | JAMMU NOV-06- As a part of the series of ‘awareness tours’ undertaken by the Army for the students of remote areas under Operation Sadbhavana, the Commanding Officer 24th Rajput regiment flagged off one more such tour of a group of students at Mahogla in Rajouri district. The trip organized by the Budhal Brigade of CI Force (Uniform) especially for the girl students from Mahore, Gool, Samote, Budhal and Kalakot areas of Reasi and Rajouri districts headed for the picturesque cities of Chandigarh, Mc. Leodgunj, Delhousie and Dharamsala . To create awareness amongst the girl students about the advancement and the latest technological developments registered in the country in various fields, the group will visit places of religious, historical and industrial importance apart from a visit to Mc.Leodgunk to see the Palace of Dalai Lama and Rock and Pinjore Gardens in Chandigarh. Addressing on the occasion, the Commandant complimented the girls for their enthusiastic participation and extolled them to utilize the knowledge gained during the tour to spread the word of unity, peace and brotherhood amongst the local populace and to their counterparts in particular and to follow the path of harmony and contribute towards the development of the State. He said such tours would act as a link between the students of Jammu and Kashmir and rest of the country besides enhancing cultural diversity and unity in the country.
