Hotel Employees Union lists demands, seeks steps for restoration of peace | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, DEC 26: Jammu: Seeking effective steps from the government to retsore complete peace in the state to attarct more and more tourists, Hotel Employees Union Jammu has urged the state government and concerned authorities to fulfil their demands at the earliest. The Union while listing their long pending demands has demanded implemention of wages, increase in which was ordered in the cabinet decision No 133/10/2009 vide Govt order No.190-F of 2009 dated 31.08.2009 (minimum wages Rs. 3300/- per month).
The Union said that employees engaged in hotel industry are providing social security as per employee’s provident Fund E.S.I insurance gratuity bonus employee’s pension law.They have demanded enforcement of standing orders act is ensured, living wages be fixed enhancement ensured as per consumer price index, orking hours for all categories of employees of hotels be ensured as per provisions of law .
The Union has further demanded that all hotel, Bar Restaurant and Dhaba owners be directed to maintain all records and strict inspection in this respect be guaranteed.It has strongly demanded that management of Hotels and other establishments provide all facilities and benefits to their employees as provided under labour legislation and not to indulge in mal- proactive by making illegal payments to officials of enforcing agencies. One more important demands put forth by the Union is that Child labour in hotel industry be banned strictly and in this direction adequate steps be taken by all concerned.
