Rs. 1.40 Cr Bridge over Barote Nalha soon: Shabir

Rajouri, Dec 26: The Government has sanctioned Rs. 1.40 crore for construction of bridge over Barote Nallah in border district Rajouri.This was announced by the Minister of State for Power, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Shabir Ahmed Khan today while addressing a public meeting at village Bhatian. He said the bridge after completion would benefit over 20 thousand population of the area.
He also announced Rs. 2 lakh for face lifting of Ziarat Sharief Sian Wali Dad Bhatian, adding that Rs. 20 crore under Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Programme is being expended for development of tourism related infrastructure in Rajouri district.
The Minister said in order to provide drinking water facilities to the people of Batian and Badakana areas the execution on water supply schemes Batian and Badakana- Bherate has been taken up at a cumulative cost of Rs. 3.31 crore. He said the first phase of these water supply schemes would be completed by end of this fiscal year and after completion over 10 thousand population would safe drinking water .
He further said that government is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of the state, adding that numerous innovative initiatives have been taken to improve the basic facilities in hilly and far off areas. He said the fast track basis development of infrastructure have been taken up by constructing new Road, PHE, Power and Health projects to boost the economy of these areas.
The Minster also inspected pace of work on 9 kilometre road project of Bawli- Bhatian. The construction of this road has been taken up at a cost of Rs. 4.78 crore under State Sector. The Minster directed concerned engineers to redouble their efforts and ensure completion of all ongoing road projects in the district within stipulated time frame. He also instructed to ensure use of quality material in execution works.
