Govt constitutes committee to investigate ‘death’ of a baby | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Dec 26: The government has constituted a committee to invetigate into allged death of a baby in GB Panth Children Hostpital in Srinagar and directed the panel to submit the report of its findings within a week. Interacting with the concerned doctors of the Hospital regarding a news report carried by local news papers thathas reported alleged death of a baby in the hospital, the Minister of helath RS Chib today constituted three member committee to investigate the matter which include Dr. Muzafar Jan, Dr. Reyaz Ahmad and Dr. Kuzes Dolma. The committee was asked to submit its report within seven days so that the action is taken against the guilty. The Minister also gave these directions during his visit to the G. B. Panth Children Hospital where he took stock of the cleanliness and functioning of the hospital. The Minister also took stock of the renovation work of the hospital for which Rs. 40 lakh have been earmarked, of which Rs. 20 lakh spent so far for the purpose. Regarding strengthening of the staff of nurses, Chib said that existing nursing school has been upgraded as Nursing Colleges which will be functional soon. Chib earlier visited Lal Ded Hospital and G. B. Panth Children Hospital, Sonwar here today. He was accompanied by MLC, Bashir Ahmad Magray, Principal GMC, Srinagar Dr. Shahida Mir and other officers.
