FONL hold meet to discuss anomalies | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 26: A meeting of FONL held under the chairmanship of Inderjeet Khajuria has expressed its serious concern over the Government reported move of taking serious view of the occupants of Nazool and other Government lands, who are not taking benefit to get the lands under their occupation regularized and ownership rights on them under the Roshini Act. In the meeting FONL has took serious view of the wrong impression sought to be created by some authorities as well as a section of the media about the position of the occupants of Government lands. It was explained that while some influential and resourceful people having links with the high ups have encroached upon Government lands including that belonging to Nazool and the forest, there are a good number of genuine occupants of Nazool and other Govt. lands who have been allotted these lands in the past more than 60-80 years, under regular lease deed with the concerned authorities. They have already paid premium fixed at the time of allotment on the lands as well are regularly paying the ground rent on the same. They are lawful holders of these lands under lease. Mixing of their case with the unlawful occupants and encroachers of the Government lands is totally unjustified and a mischievous move to confuse the issue. The others who attended the meeting included S.S.Pathania President, S. Gajan Singh Gen. Secy. Iqbal Khullar, Som Nath Sharma and Sunil Dutta.
