Residents of Gangyal raise their demands | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 26: The Residents of Ekta Vihar Colony, Gangyal held a protest demonstration against utter neglect of development in the area and to press their demand for making the link road from Gangyal to the Colony, which leads to Bishnah through a short route, paved and tarred at the earliest. Speaking on the occasion S. Baldev Singh president Joint Welfare Association Ekta Vihar Gangyal alleged that the development of the colony was being deliberately ignored, with political motive, so that the work is taken up at the time of election in a hurry to get people’s votes. In this way all the development of the area will remain suspended for long and undertaking the work in haste close by the elections will be only wastage of money. The residents also protested against the apathy of the authorities towards the concern of the people about the existence of wine shop at the main entrance to the colony, where hundreds of drunkards form long queues in the afternoon causing nuisance to the passersby including the girls coming back homes from their schools and colleges. They demanded immediate shifting of wine shop which is located near the Sai Sahyog Marriage Hall where a large number of people visit to celebrate marriages and other functions.
