Katra, Dec 26: Katra where thousands of devotees used to visit every day but nobody knows from where such several unknown mentally retarded outsider human-beings come or somebody deliberately drops them in the town.
Every year number of such physically-mentally challenged beings have been on rise here. It has become a moot question not only for the police officers but also for the locals habitants, after all what action could be sought against these mentally disordered beings who are roaming in holy town Katra without their known whereabouts.
Often covered with tittered clothes, their untoward behaviour keeps the children, ladies, devotees away to pass from that place, their awkward abusive language in the public places embarrass several passers-by.
Many-a-times mentally deranged women too become a victim of humiliation and sexually abuse when numbers of eve-teasers utter obscene remarks and some anti-social elements often treat such women with malicious intentions.
As a matter of fact, one deranged women who has become talk of the town by its unusual behaviour is bound to spend her days under the open sky during this chilled winter, she too has no alternate how to escape herself from the nefarious designs of uncivilized people.
It is noteworthy that few days ago, during the inauguration of polio camp at Katra, some social workers projected their demand for opening of rehabilitation centre before the Minister of Higher education Abdul Gani Malik at Katra, but all in vain However, localites are of the view that some middle-way should be contrived by the concerned administration so that some relaxed days in their life could help them to come out of their mental agony.
