RETs hold day-long dharna at Div Com office

JAMMU, Dec 27: The Jammu District unit of Rehbar-E-Taleem Teachers today held day-long protest in front of the office of Divisional Commissioners at Rail Head complex
The protest demonstration was held under the banner of “All J&K J&K ReT Teachers Forum” and led by Provincial President Rajesh Singh and Vice-Chairman Younas Rahi.
They were protest in support of their long pending demands and blamed the State for adopting delaying tactics to redress their demands.

Addressing to the gathering, Rajesh elaborated that ReTs were protesting at all District headquarters in order to highlight long pending demands and problems being faced by them.
State Chairman, Vinod Sharma, in his address blamed that State Government for callous attitude and ReT teachers were continuously being harassed by the Government and concerned authorities. They were forced to come on to the roads to project their demands despite several assurances given by Chief Minister himself, but nothing has been done till now.
They shouted slogans against State Government and concerned authorities to register their protest.
They were demanding the Conversion of EVs as General Line Teachers after 7 years of their service, Inclusion of 5 years of rendered service of ReTs’ for seniority benefits, enhancement in wages from Rs 1500 to Rs 7000, transfer policy in favor of regularised RETs and provision of SRO-43 in favor of RET teachers.
They warned that if their demands were not redressed within a month the forum will launch a State level agitation and even Ghereo the Assembly in near future also.
Later, they submitted a memorandum of demands to Divisional Commissioner Jammu and requested him to project their demands to the Government and concerned authorities.
Among others who were protested including district president Jammu Rishi Sharma, Surjit Singh, Subash Chander, Jyoti Prakash, Jaiveer Singh, Kewal Krishan, Vinod Kumar and Amanit Hussain.
Meanwhikle, similar protest was held at Udhampur also.
