| Physiotherapists’ dharna enters 35th day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 27: The day and night dharna of Jammu and Kashmir Physiotherapist Association (JKPA) today entered 35th consecutive day.
All the agitating physiotherapy doctors joined their counterparts putting up in front of Divisional Commissioners Office, Mubarak Mandi.
As soon as they assembled there, they started raising in favour of their demands and against the Government policies.Later JKPA organized a press conference against the notification advertised in a local media for the post of Physiotherapist in the State. The press conference was addressed by Dr. Vimal Singh, Dr. Aamira, Dr. Sonia, Dr. Neha and Dr. Pardeep Mahotra.Dr. Vimal Singh said that Govt. has made a mockery of health profession by advertising only 9 posts where as there is a need of more than 3000 physiotherapists in the Health Department as the state has potential physiotherapists but are totally unemployed.
.Dr. Neha said that Health and Medical Education Minister had announced 6000 posts in health sector.
She demanded that the State Govt. should provide 3000 jobs to physiotherapy sector.Dr. Vimal Singh warned the State Govt. not to play such type of political tactics against JKPA and has also demanded to respect the memorandum of JKPA submitted to all the concerned authorities and frame a good and comprehensive policy for the physiotherapists in accordance with the demands of JKPA.
