BJP to keep UPA, State Govts on tenterhooks over Kashmir
12/28/2010 12:03:28 AM
Early times report
JAMMU, Dec 27: The entire nation is looking towards Jammu again for leading a nationalist movement at a time when autonomy and self rule are being discussed as the alternative options for solution of Kashmir problem.
As BJP has already launched the campaign to save Kashmir with Party holding state -wide programmes over a month to mobilise the public opinion for a pro-nationalist movement in J&K for its total integration with rest of the country followed by Ekta Sankalap rally at Jammu on December 24. To give an impetus to the movement launched by it, the Party's youth wing i.e BJYM is launching Kolkata to Kashmir rally from January 12 to hoist the National Flag at Lal Chowk Srinagar on January 26, 2011.
The rally will be led by BJYM national president and MP, Anurag Thakur and over one lakh volunteers across the country will participate in it, said national vice president of the Party, Pawan Khajuria. He said that the national president of the BJP, Nitin Gadkari will hand over the National Flag to BJYM chief at kolkatta on January 12 while flagging off the rally.
He said the rally which will pass through various states of the country besides spreading the message of national integration and peace. It will also send a clear signal to the forces inimical to unity and national integrity.`` By hoisting the tricolour in Kashmir on January 26, the BJYM will silence the forces advocating for Azadi, self rule and autonomy which are not acceptable to the country''he added.
The Party is wedded to national cause and it willn't make any compromise on national unity and integrity, said Mr Khajuria. The Party has launched its first agitation in Jammu in 1953 in which first president of Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) Dr Shama Prasad Mookerjee laid down his life. This supreme sacrifice led to the abolition of permit system and extension of jurisdiction of Supreme Cour t of India, Auditor General of India and Election Commission of India, he added.
When state is confronting the same problem at present with the Congress led UPA hobnobbing with secessionists to give more concessions to the state in the form of autonomy and self rule and Chief Minister openly challenging the accession, the BJP will not allow them to succeed in their designs and make any compromise in national unity and integrity, said BJYM state president Manish Sharma.
He said BJP will stand like a rock against the secessionists and anti national elements in the state and will not allow them to succeed in their designs at any cost.
It may be recalled that Jammu had played a remarkable role in1953 Praja Parishad movement and fought for the total integration of J&K with Indian Union under the leadership of Pt.Prem Nath Dogra. This was also admitted by BJP Parliamentary Board Chairman, L K Advani while addressing Ekta rally of the Party at Parade Jammu on December 24.
Mr Advani who saluted the land of Jammu has rightly said that this land has inspired the BJP national leadership in 1953 when under the banner of Praja Parishad a strong movement was fought to abolish permit system. Mr Advani while giving due credit to the Jammu repeatedly referred to the name of Prem Nath Dogra in this regard.
As different options are being discussed for solution of Kashmir problem, the BJP has warned that nothing short of implementation of 1994 Parliament resolution and abolition of Article 370 will be acceptable to it.
The tough stand taken by the Party has perturbed the secessionists in Valley as well as PDP, NC and Congress. Knowing fully that Party will not allow any solution to Kashmir that will be inimical to national interests, Congress has started a hate campaign against BJP throughout the country, said Pawan Khajuria. But this campaign is slated to boomerang, he added.
