| NC using anti youth policies by adopting their old traditions: PDP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Dec 28: PDP had not only started the process of peace and reconciliation but also revived peoples’ faith in the democratic institutions which resulted in huge participation of people in the system.
But unfortunately present National Conference government has derailed all by plunging the state into chaos and confusion.
This was stated by PDP coordination Secretary Ab Hameed Kosheen in a meeting of youth wing at party head quarters today which was among others addressed by youth general secretaries Showkat Gayoor and Engineer Nazir Yatoo, state secretary Asif Khan and was attended by all the district youth presidents Mateen Ahmed, Sheraz Ahmed, Mohd Abdullah , Mohd Maqbool and Mushtaq Ahmed and all zonal presidents of the valley.
“Due to its oppressive policies this government has shattered peoples’ faith in the democracy”, Kosheen pointed out adding that during the last two years a large number of innocent people have lost their lives due to the repressive policies being adopted by this regime to oppress aspirations of the common masses.
He regretted that uninterrupted use of draconian methods used by the government to stifle genuine voice of the masses has proved counter productive as alienation among the people has been increasing with every passing day.
Taking a dig at government for not fulfilling its commitment to stop atrocities and release innocent youth, he said while the government itself had set an agenda of reviewing AFSPA, reduction of troops and release of prisoners only the reverse of these objectives was being followed.
Many people have run away from their homes fearing arrest, torture and extortion he said.
Addressing the meeting youth general secretary showkat Gayoor said that inability of the NC government to learn from past has proved disastrous for the State and has also brazenly starting auctioning of the government jobs.
NC led government is adopting more and more draconian methods to crush peoples voices against injustice and is out to sell the jobs in the old tradition.
