Physiotherapists continue protest, 12 arrested | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 28: The protest of unemployed physiotherapists, who are demanding jobs in the health department, entered its 36th day today. More than 150 unemployed physiotherapists, under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Physiotherapists Association (JKPA), surrounded the Divisional Commissioner’s office and blocked road in support of their demand. They sat in the middle of the road and raised anti-government slogans lamenting it for remaining indifferent towards their demands. Police rushed to the spot and asked the protesting physiotherapists to remove the blockade, the sources said, adding the group exchanged heated words with the police and clashed with the men in khaki, who in return resorted to mild cane charge and dispersed them. Twelve members of JKPA were detained and later released later on, they said, adding no one was injured in the cane charge.
