| Crime Branch busts fake racket certificate | | Two arrested, printing press sealed | | Srinagar, Nov 7 The Crime Branch of State Police busted a fake certificate racket and recovered a large number of fake certificates from the possession of three accused persons arrested so for in this connection. The Crime Branch has also sealed a printing press and full scale investigation ordered to probe the matter is going on. Divulging details SSP Crime Branch Muneer Ahmed Khan said that one Sahamas-u-Rehman Rather son of Gh Nabi resident of Ajas Bandipora employed in Kishan Ganga Hydel Project phase-I submitted a matriculation certificate believed to have been issued by J&K State Board of School Education, for promotion. However authenticity of the certificate was contested before the Crime Branch following which Shamas-u-Rehman was arrested immediately. A case under FIR No:28/06 , U/S 468,420 and 471 RPC; Dated:7-08-06 was registered against him and names of two main accused involved in fake certificate racket namely Farooq Ahmed Dobu son of Gh Mohi-ud-Din resident of Arampora Sopore, the proprietor of Badshah Printing Press Sopore and Altaf ahmed Dar son of Mohd Ramzan resident of Muslim Peer Sopore surfaced during the course of investigation. The Crime Branch arrested both the accused persons immediately and raided the printing press and Computer Institute under the supervision of Magistrate Ab Rashid Ganaie. The sleuths of Crime Branch, according to SSP Muneer Khan, recovered four marks certificates of Matriculation examination, two blank discharge certificates of Government High School Koil Muqam Bandipora, a blank character certificate of Government High School Zaloora Sopore, a stamp bearing the name of Headmaster Girls High School Yunisoo Sopore, one registration certificate of vehicles, one driving license, 28 marks certificates of Primary School Tauleen Sopore and 100 blank marks certificates of Council of Alternative System of Medicines West Bengal. Disclosing that words "Recognised by Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal, under no: 4509 of 1995 (HCC) and "Recognized by Indian Medical Council under no: CR 3429 (W) of 1992 (HCC)" were written on the certificates, Muneer said the main accused Shamas-u-Rehman has been released on bail with the condition that he will appear before the court, if necessary. However he said two other main accused have not been released as yet and printing press has been already sealed. Claiming a very big fake certificate network is operating in valley, Muneer Khan said the issue is being thoroughly probed and it is being ascertained that at what price the certificates of professional courses have been sold. He did not rule out some more sensational revealations and arrests in this connection in short near future.
