| School, Industry workers take out procession | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Dec 28: A joint procession of Mid- Day meal workers, ASHA workers, water workers of Government Schools along with industrial workers of Kathua was taken out here today.
The rally passed through the main bazaars of the city and finally concluded at Deputy Commissioner’s office.
A joint memorandum was submitted to Chief Minister through Deputy Commissioner Kathua. In the memorandum it was demanded regularization of NRHM programme, issuance of identity cards to ASHA workers, provision for room in hospitals for ASHA workers, fixation of 1000 per month salary of mid- day meal school helpers as per new scheme of central government and provision for employment of additional cook cum helper on strength of students as per new scheme.
Raj Kumar (State committee member of CITU, J&K) leader of industrial workers of Kathua flayed the authorities for delaying implementation of labour laws in factories. He demanded settlement of dispute of MET TRADE INDIA LTD.
OP Khajuria while addressing the workers condemned the anti working class policies of government and demanded immediate steps be taken by authorities concerned for proper implementation of schemes so that the benefits should be tapped in the hands of needy people for whom the schemes were passed.
