SAB fails to protect Pahari people’s interests: PSYF | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 28:Pahari Speaking Youth Forum (PSYF) has expressed its anguish over the functioning of State Advisory Board (SAB) for Pahari speaking people for its failure for not taking the issue of the community students in the right perspective. Addressing a press conference here today, PSYF chairman Abrar Khan cited the recent examples of notification issued by Directorate of 8Gcial Welfare for scholarship for Pahari Speaking students with "income slab" of Rs 1 lakh and 800 is highly discriminatory with the students belonging to the most backward community of the State - shocking to see that Pahari Advisory is a mute spectator over the issue. He further said that huge amount of scholarship is sanctioned for Pahari Speaking students but "No Stipend" is provided to the Pahari Speaking Students doing Ph D in various subjects in university likes JU and KU who are cream and future of the Pahari Speaking Community is suffering a lot due to the neglected behaviour of State Advisory Board. He requested the Chief Minister to intervene personally into the matter who himself is keen for the development of Pahari Speaking tribe. State President Gurdev Singh Thakur lambasted over the State Higher Education Ministry for its total failure by not making the Poonch University Campus & functional and prolonged delay in the construction work of Govt. Degree College Mendhar and Govt. Degree College Budhal due to which the student fraternity is suffering a lot. He further asked the State Advisory Board to make the arrangement for free coaching in the quality institutions for Pahari Speaking students for IAS, KAS and LCS. On the occasion Anjum Mehamood and Riyaz Madni were nominated as District President and District General Secretary Poonch respectively and Jatinder Paul Singh was nominated as City President Poonch.
