| Training prog for special children begins | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Dec 28:A two-day training programme organized by Special Olympics Bharat to implement the scheme of Sports and Games for persons with disabilities under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India in partnership with Paralympics Committee of India and All India Sports Council of Deaf began here today.
The programme was inaugurated by Zahida Khan District Development Commissioner Kathua at Rainbow Playway School.
DDC Zahida Khan in her address termed this special training programme to conduct games and sports for disabled as turning point for the persons with disabilities. She termed children with Disabilities as Special children of God and expressed that such programmes will unfold the great hidden potential which need to be explored through medium of sports.
State President Special Olympics Bharat J&K Dr Ashvani Jojra in his address appealed all the sections of the society to make every citizen well aware of the sports and games of disabled and Special Olympics Bharat to make it a peoples’ movement.
It was disclosed in the function that four master trainers trained from Gwalior will impart two day training to around 60 community coaches.
Commandant 121 Bn CRPF VS Joon, , Area director Mahesh Kinth, Distt Coordinator Kathua Ram Lal Tak, Chairman Rainbow School and Colleges Kapil Dev Sharma, Principal Hazoora Singh. Principal Kuldeep, Lalit, Dr Satbir Singh and 60 coaches from different parts of the District Kathua were present during the function.
