| Govt to utilize services of Kashmiri migrant teachersvv | | | Jammu, Nov 07 In a bid to utilize the services of Kashmiri migrant teachers and lecturers, directorate of school education has a recommended for their deployment in other than camp schools where the number of available teachers is inadequate. Sources informed that a recommendation has been made by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Sourabh Bhagat after his inspection to two camp schools, situated in Government Higher Secondary School, Bakshi Nagar where he found that roll of Lecturers and teachers was near about 200 while as the strength of students was almost nil. He also came to know that maximum migrant teachers remain absent from duty and come to the school only for getting their salary, as they don’t have any work to do in the camp schools. At the time of inspection at Camp school in Government Girls HSS Bakshi Nagar, only 19 out of 52 teachers, were present on duty. Taking serious note of the situation, the ADDC asked the Director School Education to look into the matter and recommended that the additional number of migrant teachers be shifted from the camp schools and deployed in those institutions in Bishnah, R S Pura and Samba etc where the teaching staff was inadequate. It may be mentioned here that all the Kashmiri migrant teachers who had left the Valley on the very outset of militancy there, have been adjusted in Government camp schools in Jammu where the number of students is far less than the teachers. Though the Government tried to utilize their services by taking similar action, the same was opposed by the migrant employees who refused to join duties in outer of Jammu. Further, there is also a State Cabinet decision, which does not allow adjustment of a migrant employee against local post. However, the Cabinet decision will not be a hurdle in utilizing the Kashmiri migrant teachers’ services as the recommendation is not for adjusting them against local posts but only their temporary deployment in those schools which lack adequate teaching staff, a senior officer of the Education Department told the News Agency of Kashmir. |
