Involve youth in state affairs, empower them politically, socially: Mir | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Dec 29: President Democratic Party (Nationalist) (DPN). Ghulam Hassan Mir has said that the party has resolved to ensure that youth of the state are politically involved in the stale affairs and to make them politically empowered, socially responsible not only in the valley but on the national and global level. Mir was addressing one day youth convention here today in which thousands of youth came from far off areas of valley participated. He said our youth have tremendous potential and capabilities which need to be exploited in a positive manner adding that the youth who on the receiving end in the present circumstances could conquer the whole world in all the spheres of social-economic development which they have proved on various occasion. The President said if Jammu and Kashmir has to emerge as an honourable and dignified state, first and foremost our youth have to take this mantle on their shoulders. He said they have to prepare not only themselves but also their less fortunate, beleaguered brothers & sisters to face the challenges of the 21st century and the century is not the century of electronics neither is it the century of computers, but is the century of competent and capable human resource. Therefore, they need to pull up thier socks to organise themselves to compete with the best around them and prove their mettle. He urged upon them to be the key agents for their states prosperity and peace, for in development and peace lies the future of the 21st century and in the 21st century lies their successful future. He said in an endeavour to empower our youth politically, besides our own party we urge the whole political class and institutions to democratize in a way that the youth of Kashmir willingly, proactively and positively participate in the affairs of the state.
