| Govt ‘trick’ with physiotherapists…? | | Only 9 posts as against 3000 unemployed | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 29: The state government has once again played a trick with the unemployed professionals of the state by advertising meager posts in local dailies few days back.The physiotherapist who were on dharna cum protest demonstration for the last 35 days to get their due rights, but government has played cruel joke on them by advertising only 9 posts for their recruitment in the whole state as more than 3000 unemployed physiotherapists were
in row to get jobs.
According to official sources, the government has passed orders to Service Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB) to publish few posts only to divert the attention of protesting unemployed physiotherapists. The government has no clear cut policy for them as there is no sanctioned posts in any hospitals of the State, they said, adding “ for proper recruitment of professionals there should at least one post in orthopedics department in every hospital”.
Recently, the concerned minister clearly stated that the government has no responsibility for the placement of unemployed physiotherapists as in government sector there is no post created for them. But, now they are advertising the posts which clear shows that there is no policy of state government dealing with unemployed youth of the state.
Dr Vimal Manhas, a member of Jammu Kashmir Physiotherapist Association (JKPA) said that by advertising less number of posts for Jammu division the state government is playing divide and rule policy with unemployed physiotherapists. He further said that no member of JKPA from Jammu as well as Kashmir would apply for the said posts. “There are more than 3000 unemployed physiotherapists and by advertising only 9 posts in local dailies, the government is playing with our sentiments”, he added.
