| “Kandi Ekta Manch” protest against administrative apathy | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua Dec 29: The villagers of the village Dhaloti, Amala and Genarhi of tehsil Hiranagar held a massive protest at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park under the “Kandi Ekta Manch” against the administration for adopting negligent attitude towards the development of their respective villages.
They observed that the works have been completed under the MNREGA but after the passing of near about one year, no payment has been given to the MNERGA workers of the villages till date while in this concern they have apprised their plight to the district administration several times.
While leading the protest the president of “Kandi Ekta Manch” Ashok Jasrotia criticized the administration for delaying the wages of the MNERGA workers for the last one year. “These people have no other source of income and this reality is well known by the administration which is also causing the harassment to the NERGA workers,” said Jasrotia .
He said that the standard of all the MNREGA works in said villages are highly appreciated by all the concerned department, local people and even the Minister Manohar Lal Sharma and also given the assurances to pay all the suffering workers immediately but all assurances proved fake and false till date and the workers are still facing the harassment.
The villagers present in the protest were. Thuru Ram,Kuljit Singh, Tara Chand, Tara Singh, Neena Devi, Soma Devi, Kamla Devi, Deewan Chand, Balwant Singh, Ram Paul and Anchal Dass.
