Drive against use of polythene carry bags | | | Early Times Report SURANKOTE, Dec 29: Enforcement staff of Jammu Muncipal Corporation (JMC) today undertook a drive against the use of polythene carry bags in the areas of Trikuta Nagar extension and Narwal. In a handout issued here today, it has been stated that under the directions of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) S.C Sawhney, enforcement staff led by Chief Enforcement Officer (CEO) Satish Khajuria undertook a drive against use of polythene carry bags. During the drive, team inspected various outlets/shops and seized about 25 kilograms of polythene carry bags from these areas. A fine Rs 7000 was charged from 32 defaulters for using the polythene carry bags. Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to the general public to avoid the use of polythene carry bags and also asked the traders communities to adopt alternate arrangement to carry their commodities.
