JAMMU: Within 24 hours, Pakistan today violated ceasefire on the borders by resorting to unprovoked fire with the aim of facilitating infiltration by militants. While on Tuesday, ceasefire violation took place on the LoC in KG sub-sector of Poonch, today, International Border (IB) was the target of the enemy troops.
BSF sources said the Pak Rangers fired at Balad outpostin Ramgarh sub-sector on the IB at about 4.30 am Wednesday. Fire was returned. The intermittent exchange of small and heavy arms fire between the two sides continued till 5.15 am, the sources added.
Sources said the unprovoked Pak firing was aimed at facilitating infiltration by militants from across the border. The visibility at that time was very poor due to a blanket of fog
and darkness.
The vigil had been further stepped up on the IB, the sources added. On Tuesday also, Pak troops had violated ceasefire on the LoC in KG area of Poonch.
