| Restrictions on business of army combat dresses | | |
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 07 District Magistrate Jammu Mr. Hirdesh Kumar Singh under section 144 Cr.P.C. has imposed restrictions on private parties dealing in procurement, storage, sale and stitching of army combat dress cloth and ready made combat dress. The ban imposed says that no unauthorized person shall procure, purchase, store, stitch and sell army combat dress/ ready made combat dress. All authorized persons private firms/ shops dealing in such articles shall immediately inform in writing to the nearest Police Station the fact of their carrying on of this occupation. The time limit for informing the nearest Police Station shall be seven days. It shall be mandatory for all the authorized firms/ shops dealing in such articles to maintain registers giving details of the items received with quantity, date of sale, items sold, quantity of the items sold and the address/ identity of the party to whom sold. All such firms shall sell such articles to bonafide members of the Armed Forces of the Union of India after verifying their identity from the identity cards and also note down the names and the unit number of the latter on the Register. An officer of the police of the rank of ASI and above shall have the authority to check and inspect such registers on routine as well as for the purpose of investigations and enquiries. This order shall remain in force for a period of two months from 4-11-2006.
