CBI registers case in Batra college entrance test scam | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 30: In the August 21 Batra medical college entrance test scam in which seven fake examinees, including two girls, were apprehended while impersonating the wards of the rich and influential, including GM Saroori and Rampal, CBI has registered a case. Saroori, who that time was works minister, was forced to quit by chief minister Omar Abdullah after his name had figured in the scam. A girl was found impersonating his daughter Huma Tabassum. Rampaul, a senior NC leader, was too alleged to have arranged a fake examinee for his son Lovish Bharat. Official sources said the Jammu wing of CBI had registered a case in this connection and formed a special team. The team, which had two Inspectors as its members, would be headed by DSP Amandeep Singh Brar, who at presented was posted in Chandigarh. Sources said Brar was made team head by CBI DIG Mahesh Aggarwal. The team would take the requisite record from the custody of Gandhi Nagar police station, which was holding probe into the incident, the sources added. Sources said apart from probing into the Batra college entrance test scam, the team was also likely to seize the record from the civil secretariate to find out the names of the wards of politicians and other influential persons in MBBS selections made in the previous years. |
