| Jora-led deputation calls on Sibal | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 31: Minister for Tourism Nawang Rigzin Jora today called on Union Minister for Telecommunication and IT (HRD) Kapil Sibal at New Delhi and brought to his notice the faulty system of BSNL.
He was accompanied by Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC, Leh, Rigzin Spalbar, Councilors LAHDC, Dr. Angchuk Gurmet, Sonam Dorjay and former Union Minister P. Namgyal. Deputation apprised Sibal that the sector has suffered tremendous damages due to recent flash foods and cloudburst in Leh rendering mobile system out of order.
He informed Sibal that People of Ladakh particularly of Leh are suffering badly because of faulty MVTH mobile services and demanded immediate installation of 34 mvth IDR, establishment of separate mobile exchange building (MSC) for which land has been allotted to BSNL by the Leh Council. They also sought upgradation of IDR at Phoys and installation of additional 20 mobile towers for Leh-Ladakh.
Sibal after reviewing progress with the BSNL officers, instructed the concerned to take urgent steps in this direction so that hampered mobile service is restored immediately.
