| Bhalla directs for restoring breach portion of canal at Gangyal | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 31: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla has directed the Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) officers to immediately start the restoration work on breach portion of canal embankments at Gangyal damaged due to heavy rains adding that Rs. 22 lakh stand already earmarked for this purpose.
Deputy Commissioner, Jammu,. Sanjeev Verma, Chief Engineer, I&FC, B R Dogra, Director, Floriculture, Jammu, K K Sharma besides other senior officers of I&FC, Revenue, Floriculture and R&B accompanied the Minister.
Bhalla said coalition Government has also earmarked Rs. 1 crore for construction of culvert and the canal channeling besides modernization of canal embankments in Gangyal. He asked the Floriculture department to immediately complete the concrete work of walls along the canal to prevent recurrent damage to the cannel.
He asked the R&B and I&FC authorities to work in coordination and complete the ongoing development works of road widening and modernization of canal within stipulated time frame.
