| Road safety is a mission not intermission | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua , Dec 31: Regional Transport officer Lakhanpur Kathua S.K.Gupta has organized celebrations of road safety week 2011 with effect from 1st of Jan.to 7th of jan 2011 as a National programme under the aegis of surface transport ministry govt. of India.
The celebration shall mark a grand slam rally to be flagged off by the Legislator of Jammu & Kashmir Charanjit Singh Jasrotia (MLA Kathua),Mohtrama Zayida Parveen Khan District Dev. Commissioner Kathua , District Police chief J.L.Sharma senior superintendent of police Kathua, principal Police Training School A.K.Sharma, Principal Govt.Degree College Kathua Ram Krishan Sharma,Rajeshwer Singh Chatak A.R.T.O.Lakhanpur,Raj Singh Goriya DySp Traffic comprising of Red Cross Contingent, senior division national cadet core and senior secondary students of various educational institutions shall culminate at PWD rest house.
Interaction between transport operators/ drivers shall be conducted, painting competitions; free eye camp for drivers & symposia on the mission road safety is a mission not intermission. The celebrations shall culminate on 7th of Jan,2011.

Two wheelers without helmet, driving two wheelers while listening mobiles and triple riders, using wrong lanes are being seriously dealt with.
Nesty tape recorders fitted in the matadors are being removed as a part of the campaign and two dozens of such tape recorders have been destroyed.
