HC keeps appointment in abeyance

Jammu, Jan: 01 :- In a petition filed by one Jameela Bano Anaganwari Worker challenging the appointment of Shaheena Akhter, Justice JP Singh of J&K High Court Jammu Wing issued notice to State of J&K through Commissioner/Secretary Social Welfare Dept, Director Social Welfare Jammu, Program Office Social Welfare Dept ICDS Project Doda, CDPO Bhaderwah and Shaheena Akhter and after hearing Adv SS Ahmed for the petitioner ordered that in the meanwhile appointment of Shaheena Akhter as Supervisor is directed to remain in abeyance till next date.

In the petition it has been submitted that the temporary appointment of Shaheena Akhter as supervisor ignoring the superior claim of seniority of the petitioner was bad in law, the respondent’s suffering from vitiligo could not be taken as Disability contemplated by the provisions of J&K Persons With Disabilities (Equal, Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act 1988 to give preference to respondents and seeking quashment of the appointment of Sheena Akhter as Supervisor.
