| AMC celebrates 247th anniversary | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Jan 2: Commemorating their 247th anniversary the fraternity of Army Medical Corps (AMC) at Udhampur garrison comprising HQ Northern Command (Medical Branch), Command Hospital (Northern Command) and the Regimental Medical Officers organised various health promotional, training and civic activities in the days preceding the anniversary on
January 1, the highlight being an Eye Camp organised on December 28 at village Thalela in Doda district under Operation Sadhbhavna where many cases needing eye surgery were managed.
Ever since its inception in year 1948 as a General Hospital the present Command Hospital (Northern Command) has established its credentials as an exemplary tertiary health care delivery facility and has the glorious distinction of serving the coveted role in managing casualties with life threatening injuries of various Ops with minimal
mortality in the saga of the Indian Army starting from OP J&K, OP RIDDLE, OP CACTUS LILY, OP RAKSHAK to OP VIJAY. On the occasion, the GOC-in C and the Chief of Staff, Northern Command conveyed their felicitations and assured continued support to the entire Army medical fraternity at Udhampur in development of state of
the art infrastructure in provisioning comprehensive health care to the needy.
