| Pathania seeks municipal committee for Manwal | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Jan 2: Senior vice president J & K Pradesh Youth Congress, R S Pathania has demanded setting up of fresh Municipal Committees at Majalta and Manwal.
While addressing a meeting of the party activists and general people at Manwal, Pathania said that Majalta is a Tehsil headquarters since long and by merging adjoining areas of nearby villages, Kuarnoo, Sartari, Peuni, Kathil and Baryalta, a viable municipality could come up at Majalta. Otherwise, also Tehsil headquarter cannot be developed at par with the limited funding of Rural Development Department.
He also emphasized for setting up of a municipality at Manwal. Whereas Manwal is a viable trade centre and a daily passer-by route of thousands of people, vehicles and trains playing on Jammu-Udhampur route. This area has lagged behind in development for want of proper funds. Setting up of a municipality over here shall be instrumental in
speeding up the pace of development over here. Manwal is in the map of Archaleogical Survey of India (ASI) and an ancient Devi Bani temple and Baba Pair shrine add to religious importance of the area. He also sought an Accidental Hospital at Manwal as due to greater rush o vehicles on Dhar road, tendency of accidents is greater.
