MVD holds 22nd ‘Road Safety Week”

UDHAMPUR, JANUARY 2: The state Motor Vehicle Department (MVD), Udhampur organized 22nd “Road Safety Week, here today. The celebration was held under the supervision of ARTO, Udhampur Swaran Singh in order to create awareness among the public. On second day of the traffic week celebration, MVD also organized number of events.
According to reports on second day of the ongoing 22nd Road Safety Week celebration, MVD launched massive awareness programme in collaboration with local leading “Udhampur Driving Institute” (UDI). They fully decorated and maintained Domail Chowk by exhibiting the pamphlets, posters and number banners in order to make the public aware about traffic rules and its safety precaution as well. Leading Driving Institute of the town “UDI” displayed number of attractive banners with relevant slogans to educate the people. Besides this number of Chowks of the town was also decorated with banners and other material by MVD.
ARTO Sawarn Singh appreciated the presentation of the UDI and also urged upon the two wheelers rider to use the helmet while they drive and also adhere the rules of the MVD department. During the drive, MVD team also challaned different vehicles, including commercial vehicles for violation of MVD rules and stressed upon the drivers and conductor of the vehicles to put on the proper uniform to adhere the order of court also otherwise stern legal action will be taken against the defaulters in coming days.
Beside ARTO Udhampur has constituted different MVD departments team headed by Inspector Kuldeep Singh and Inspector Rajesh Gupta in order to create awareness among all type of vehicle’s drivers and public in general at different locations in Udhampur.
During awareness team also distributed the literatures and pamphlets depicting the different road safety pictures in order to make aware the riders and public in general as how to abide the MVD rules and avoid its violations. During this drive team also appeal to the drivers of the every kind of vehicle be it private or commercial and public in general to cooperate with the department in order to know more about the Road safety Rules and to avoid fatal road accidents. Volunteers of the NSS also performed well and make aware the public about traffic rules and road safety measures in order to avoid fatal road accidents.
