LPG cylinder explodes, 1 hurt | | | Early times report UDHAMPUR JAN 02: In a bizarre incident, one person was critically injured in a LPG cylinder explosion at Chowk Jakheni in Udhampur. The cylinder, used for cooking purpose illegally by a Kiosk owner (Khokha) in the busy Chowk, exploded in which khokha was reduced to ashes before fire tender could reach for rescue it. One person was also critically injured in the incident. According to sources, a Khokha owner located at Jakhani Chowk suddenly exploded and created panic among the passerby and cops deputed on duty at Nakka. Within notime, high flames of the fire engulfed the entire Khokha and reduced it to ashes. Receiving the information, police party headed by SHO Arvind Singh Sambyal under the supervision of Addl SP Bhupinder Singh rushed to the spot to access the reason of explosion. However, police confirmed as it was of LPG cylinder explosion . Fire tender was pressed in service to control the fire. However, a passerby got injured as splinter of the cylinder hit on his face. The victim was shifted to the District hospital, Udhampur. Police identified the victim as Rajinder Kumar s/o Bal Krishan R/O village Salmehri in Udhampur. Police registered the case and launched the investigation.
