Govt okay’s 103 posts of physiotherapists | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 2 : In a significant move, the Government has decided to create 103 posts of physiotherapists in all District and Sub-District Hospitals of the state. This was disclosed by the Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Sham Lal Sharma while talking to the media persons after inaugurating the Youth Congress Office in the Congress headquarters here today. Responding to a point, the Minister said that Government has strengthened the mechanism of record in all the Government hospitals and Rs. 9 crore has been earned as revenue from the lab tests and registration tickets. He said that no enhancement of lab tests and registration ticket has been affected for past many years, but monitoring system has been made more effective. The revenue generated by the health institutions will be incurred on the maintenance of the facilities at the respective hospitals by the resources generated locally, he maintained. The Minister further apprised that decks have been cleared for the State's Drug Policy and shortly the proposal will be placed before the Cabinet for approval. A separate Procurement Directorate will also be established to maintain transparency in the purchases and ensure supply of quality drugs and allied material, he said. He said that Government has taken many initiatives during the past two years for further improvement in the functioning of the health sector, he added. State President of Youth Congress, Shoaib Lone and hundreds of youth leaders were present on the occasion. |
