Mountaineering Association holds election | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, January 03: Ram Khajuria has once again been elected as general secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Mountaineering Association while Home Secretary, J&K, BR Sharma has been unanimously re-elected as president in an election meeting held here today. While BR Sharma represented Snow Trail Mountaineers, Ram Khajuria was a nominee of Tawi Trekkers. Yogeshwar Kumar of J&K Mountaineering and Allied Sports Club, Jammu and Khurshid Ahmad of Glacier Trekking and Mountaineering Club, Anantnag were elected as vice presidents for Jammu and Kashmir divisions respectively. Everester, Ram Singh, of Ibex Adventure Club, Samba and Nissar Ahmad Mandu of Kashmir Magsshaff Trekking and Mountaineering Club, Srinagar were elected as joint secretaries for Jammu and Kashmir divisions respectively while Shamsher Singh of Ibex Adventure Club, Samba was elected as treasurer of the Association. The elected executive body members included Dr Sonam Angchuk of Ladakh Adventure Sports Institute, Leh, Rakesh Goswami of Shivalik Mountaineering and Adventure Sports Club, Jammu, Mohd. Amin of Kashmir Mountaineering Team, Srinagar, Sajad Haider of Tawi Trekkers, J&K, Shakeel Ahmad of Kashmir Magsshaff Trekking and Mountaineering Club, Srinagar and Amit Khajuria of J&K Himalayan Mountaineering Club, Udhampur. Chief Sports Officer of State Sports Council, MS Baba and member Sports Council, Dushyant Sharma were the observers from Sports Council while Ms Shawetica Khajuria was observer from North Zone Sport Climbing Committee, New Delhi.
