| Kashyap Jagriti Manch, Mahila wing elects state body | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu Jan 3: J&K Kashyap Jagriti Manch, Mahila Wing, (OBC), Jammu today announced the state body of the wing.
Addressing the press conference, Asha Kashyap, President, Mahila Wing hailed the coalition government led by Omar Abdullah for creation of J&K State Backward Classes Advisory Board and nomination of its members.
She also appealed the Chief Minister to fulfill their other demands which included caste based census of OBC for determination of exact population of GBC in J&K State which enable the Advisory Board for formulate programmes and policies for their welfare and upliftment and also to provide infrastructure and other facilities to the Board to make it functional in the state at earliest . Their other demands included 27% reservation to socially & educationally backward classes on the basis of castes as per recommendations of Mandal Commission or to enhance the present reservation of OSC from 2% to 27%, changing of the nomenclature of OSC to Backward Classes in the certificate issued under SRO-294 dated 21.10.2005, to exclude Backward Areas and area adjoining Adual Line of Control from the definition of Socially & Educationally Backward. Classes by amendment in The Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Act, 2004.
They also demanded one certificate for OSC (Backward Classes) for State and Central Govt. employment and simplifying the procedure and process for issuance of Other Social Caste Certificate and also political reservation to the OBC in Legislative Assembly, Legislative Council, Local Bodies, Municipalities, Municipal Corporation, Panchayat etc, besides age relaxation to the Backward Classes upto the age of 45 years for applying in Govt /Semi Govt. Jobs.
Meanwhile, the members which were elected included Swarnlata Kashyap as senior Vice-President, Pooja Kashyap as Vice President, Reetu Kashyap, general secretary;
Anju Bala and Neelam Kashyap as Secretaries, Seema Mehra, Raj Rani Kashyap, Premlata Kashyap, Baby Kashyap, all joint secretaries, Gitanjali Kashyap as cashier
and Renu Kashyap, Office- Incharge .
The working committee members included Anju Mehra, Anita Kashyap, Sukandhya Kashyap, Satya Kashyap, Saradha Kashyap, Poonam Kashyap, Rani Kashyap, Santosh Kashyap, Ratno Devi, Krishna Kashyap, Neelam.
Those who were present in the press conference included Pawan Kumar Manni (Advocate), Brij Mehra, Banarsi Lal Mehra, Mohan L.al Tak, Ravi Kumar Dogra, Ashok Mehra, Kavi Raj Tak, Capt.
