JBA holds interaction with Swami Raj | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU Jan 3: The Jammu Bachao Andolan (JBA) organised an interaction session with former senior IAS officer and member state Finance Commission Swami Raj Sharma here today. A large number of functionaries of the JBA and Anti-Discrimination Center (ADF) participated . Referring to the dissenting report submitted to the government, Sharma said that he has recommended three separate regional development boards for Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions to ensure equitable development of all the areas of the state. Sharma maintained that the Jammu region has faced discrimination in many spheres of economic development as well as representation to the youth of Jammu in the professional and technical course, adding, that this tendency needs to be stopped immediately. Former IAS officer stressed the need for creating awareness among the people about their development issues so that there is no hegemony of one region over and all areas of the state, progress harmoniously. Former legislator Ashok Sharma, who presided over the function, pleaded for rationalization of the parliamentary and Assembly seats in the state with each region getting its due share as per its area, topography, population and other parameters fixed for the purpose. He added that earlier this done will be better for strengthening the unity and ensuring speedy and progress of the state. Meanwhile, the JBA has decided to organize interaction session every Sunday with a prominent personality on various issues concerning Jammu region, in art, culture, education, and environment, consume movement, for honesty and other such fields of activity. The wing commander (retd) G.L. Sharma thanked the Swami Raj Sharma for throwing light on various important issues concerning the people of Jammu region during the interactive session.
