JMC conducts anti-encroachment drive, demolishes illegal structures | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 3: The Enforcement wing of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) conducted an anti-encroachment drive and demolished illegally raised structures in the different areas of the city. The staff of Enforcement wing led by Chief Enforcement Officer, JMC Satish Khajuria along with the police force demolished the unauthorized shop raised by Kuldeep Raj Gupta son of Om Parkash Gupta at Sector- 9, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. The team also demolished the plinth of boundary wall raised by Vijay Kumar son of Mansa Ram who had encroached upon the part of canal distributory at Greater Kailash. Besides this, while continuing the anti-encroachment drive, the team visited the areas of Gandhi Nagar, Canal Road etc and seized the goods/articles including fruits, Vegetables, benches, crates, chairs, dustbins and tarpaulin which were placed by the shopkeepers /vendors upon footpaths and also removed the hoardings, kiosks, banners from the public places which were installed and displayed by various establishments in these areas. Apart from this 10 reheries were also seized which were found stationary. Also during the drive the team inspected various shops/outlets and about 30 kgs of polythene carry bags were seized. A fine of Rs 5400 was realized from 23 defaulters who were using the polythene carry bags. The drive was carried out under instructions from JMC, Commissioner, S C Sawhney.
