| Oversized studs, speed breakers causing accidents | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 3: The speed breakers and metal studs installed by the traffic police on the city roads have become a menace rather than a controlling factor to rein in on rash drivers. The equipments not only become a nightmarish experience for the drivers but they also cast their affect on the life of the tyres particularly the wheels of two wheelers. The
metal studs in few cases turned out to be a reason for the accidents especially for the two-wheelers as the riders sometimes loose balance while negotiating them.
“Its quite dangerous as when a person is driving in speed, suddenly he finds these studs on the roads which cause damage to the shcock absorbers and tyres of the vehicles. Secondly, when breaks are applied suddenly there is imminent danger of another vehicle hitting us from behind”, said Ravish Malhotra, a local resident.
