| Creative writing workshop begins at Srinagar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar Jan 3:Three day creative writing workshop, which aims at honing the writing skills of budding writers and poets of the state besides inculcating human and moral values, began at Academy headquarters Lal Mandi Srinagar today.
The event was inaugurated by noted litterateur Prof. Mishal Sultan Puri and saw participation of more than 100 writers and poets from various parts of the valley.
Speaking on the occasion secretary Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Zafar Iqbal Manhas said that his organisation would encourage such workshops as they were needed for upgrading the writing skills of young writers.
The inaugural session was presided over by noted scholar and poet, Prof. Mishal Sultan Puri while well known broadcaster, Rafiq Raaz was the chief guest on the occasion. On the inaugural day Syed Rasul Pompur and other scholars presented their demonstrations and delivered extension lectures.
Those present on the occasion included secretary Academy of Art, Zafar Iqbal Manhas, former director Radio, Rafiq Raaz, noted writer Syed Rasul Pampur and additional secretary Cultural Academy, Kashmir Shamima Akhtar. Besides, prominent poets, scholars and representatives of various educational institutions were also present on the occasion.
