PDP block traffic on NH, burns effigy of coalition govt

KATHUA 3 JAN: The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Kathua today blocked the National Highway for half an hour and burnt the effigy of coalition government to lodge their protest against undemocratic attitude of the government towards the unemployed youth.
The PDP also criticized the coalition government led by Omar Abdullah for launching the handicapped Shere-e-Kashmir employment policy which has proved hollow and just an eye wash.
The protest was led by the district president Surinder Singh along with his hundreds activists. He said that the CM without any vision and policy to combat the sufferings of unemployed youth of the state including daily wagers, Rehabar-e-Ziraat, PHE casual workers, daily wagers Safai Karamchari, PDD daily wagers, and other who are whishing to get the unemployment allowance. These youth are not getting more than Rs 3300 per month for the last more than seven years. He said that in PHE and PDD, the casual workers were still getting Rs 500 per month against their hard duty which too is irregular, even the Rehbar-e- Ziraat agriculture technocrats still working in their respective department of agriculture production have attained overage and living in the condition of frustration and depression along with their family members also, and the daily wagers Safai Karamchari also survive on the hollow and false promises of the government.
He said that Omar’s regime has been totally failed which is evident from the sufferings of the common masses. Others present included Jagjeet Singh (Jagga), Tez Paul, Raju, Vinod, Arun Sharma, Sanjay Gupta .
