Dar Moves obituary in LC. House pays tributes to Dar, Sheikh & others.

Srinagar, July 28 - Chairman Legislative Council Mr Abdul Rashid Dar today paid rich tributes to Mr Pramodh Mahajan Ex-Union Minister, Mr Ghulam Nabi Untoo, Ex-Member Parliament, Ex-MLAs, Sheikh Abdul Rashid and Mr Ghulam Nabi Dar.
Moving obituary reference in Legislative Council, Mr Dar said that words are inadequate to convey the deep sense of sorrow the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council feels at their passing away.
He said that the House pays its homage to the memories of Ex-Union Minister and Ex-Legislators and prays to God that their souls may rest in peace.
He said, the House also expresses its grave concern on the situation that has arisen by the Israel’s attack on Lebanon where hundreds of innocent people got killed and also on the killing of tourists and other civilians in the state and at Mumbai and expresses its sympathies with bereaved families.
Chairman also expressed his concern on the attack on Ms Sakina Itoo and prayed for her speedy recovery.
Those who spoke on the obituary reference moved by the Chairman include Mr Ghulam Rasool Kar, Mr B.A. Naz, Mr Lal Mohammad Sabir, Mr Nizam-ud-Din, Mr Ashok Sharma, Mrs Farida Mir, Mr G. N. Lone, Mr A.R. Tukroo, Mr Abdul Rashid Qureshi, Mr T.S. Wazir, Mr Bilal Lodhi, Mr N.A. Mir, Mr Ved Prakash Mahajan, Mr Arvinder Singh and Mr Bhim Singh.
They paid rich tributes to the departed souls and recalled their contribution in the political and social services to the state. The members while conveying their sympathies with the bereaved families also prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.
Almost all the members expressed their concern over the repeated attacks on legislator Ms Sakina Ittoo and urged upon the government to make foolproof security arrangements for the politicians and social workers. They urged for identifying the culprits behind these attacks.
Later, two minute silence was observed in respect of the departed souls.
