| Rs 1410 cr sanctioned for 420 schemes under PMGSY | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 03 Under PMGSY programme in Jammu province, 420 schemes are sanctioned from Phase-I to VI at an estimated cost of Rs. 1410.42 crore against which an expenditure of Rs. 478.01 crores has been incurred. Out of which 947 habitations to be covered against the mentioned sanctioned programme, 472 habitations have been connected which is 49.84% achievement.
Due to the persistent efforts of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and follow-up action with Ministry of Rural Development/Government of India, the department has succeeded in facilitating release of Rs. 284 crores of programme funds towards the ongoing works of PMGSY in the State; which is going to provide a huge respite towards clearance of piled-up work done cost to the extent of Rs. 100 crores approximately in Jammu province and shall prove as a boon towards acceleration of progress to achieve the aims and objectives of providing coverage to the unconnected habitations in far off and remote populations of Jammu province.
As many as 121 road schemes have been completed and a fair weather length of 1400 kms has been achieved. The phase wise completion of schemes is 12 in phase I, 17 in phase II, 09 in phase III, 12 in phase IV, 24 in phase V and 47 in phase VI.
210 roads and bridges schemes have been sanctioned under Phase-VII of the PMGSY programme for a road length of 1215.59 kms costing Rs. 760.00 crores which are under the process of award and contracts for 40 (forty) number schemes stands already finalized.
DPRs for 54 number of schemes have already been submitted to Ministry of Rural Development/Government of India at an estimated cost of Rs. 373.37 crores under Phase-VIII (Batch-I).
DPRs for 83 works are under the process of submission to Ministry of Rural Development/Government of India at an estimated cost of Rs. 9786.47 lakhs under Phase-VIII (Batch-II).
