| Pradeshik Bhraman flagged off | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Jan 3: Pradeshik Bhraman, the Trans India Territorial Army Cycle Expeditionwhich is being under taken Jammu Terriers, was flagged off by Maj Gen TPS Waraich. General Officer Commanding, Tiger Division today.
\During the course of their journey, the cyclists will visit important places of interest such as wildlife sanctuaries, war memorials, world heritage sites and wetlands enroute within states of J&K, Punjab, Harayana and Rajasthan.
The expedition will cover a total distance of 3000 Kms in 35 days and will terminate at BD Bari, Jammu in the first week of February 2011.
\The aim of conducting such an extensive cycle expedition is to publicize the concept of Territorial Army and thereby motivating the youth of our nation to join it. The expedition will test the physical and mental stamina of the team while inculcating a sprit of adventure and developing leadership traits.
\The theme of this expedition is to spread awareness among people about drying up of wetlands and shrinking of wildlife sanctuaries. The team will also highlight the significance of war memorials and world heritage sites and subsequently educate the populace about their relevance and need for their preservation.
\The expedition will finally converge at New Delhi, coinciding with “Prime Ministers Territorial Army Day Parade” in the month of March 2011.
